Predictive ability of intraoperative serum lactate levels for hospital mortality (N = 551). The AUC of intra-LAC was larger than that of the initial-LAC (P = 0.024) and not significantly different from that of post-LAC (p = 0.306). The cut-off values of initial LAC, intra-LACand post-LAC for postoperative mortality were 3.58 mmol/L (sensitivity, 0.5; specificity, 0.856), 3.68 mmol/L (sensitivity, 0.575; specificity, 0.833) and 3.33 mmol/L (sensitivity, 0.558; specificity, 0.821), respectively, Youden index.
