The range of motion (ROM) of adjacent segments. (#p < 0.05 compared with preoperative value, *p < .05 between two groups). The ROM of the superior adjacent segment increased significantly in all three groups at the final follow-up compared with the preoperative data (p < 0.05). It was significantly higher in the ACDF group than those in the type I and type II groups at the final follow-up (p < 0.05). For the ROM of the inferior adjacent segment, a significant increase was observed in the type I and ACDF groups (p < 0.05). It was also significantly higher in the ACDF group at the final follow-up than those in the type I and type II groups (p < 0.05)
