Comparison of 1-, 3-, and 5-year expected overall survival rates for the treatment of small liver cancer with diameters of 3–5 cm between abdominal RFA and resection groups; no significant differences were found. For the resection group, the values were 94.4, 77.8, and 70.8%, respectively, and for the radiofrequency group, the values were 90, 76, and 68%, respectively (P = 0.968)
