Design and intraoperative pictures of the dedicated localization scheme we used to describe the relationship between the parathyroid gland and the thyroid gland. Type A: parathyroid gland is tight, closely related to the thyroid gland. Type A is divided into three subtypes. a Type A1, parathyroid gland is attached to the surface of thyroid gland; b type A2, parathyroid gland partially or completely embedded in the thyroid gland, but located outside the inherent capsule of the thyroid; c type A3, the parathyroid gland is completely located in the thyroid tissue. d Type B is distant from the thyroid gland
